Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is a American TV reporter, journalist and anchor for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language and culture from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell began her career in the field of radio and television reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, Mitchell became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). Then she joined NBC News Washington two years later as an general reporter. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the principal journalist for Congress. She was promoted to Chief White House correspondent in 1992 and the chief foreign affairs reporter for NBC News in 1994. Mitchell has appeared as a host and panelist in the TV news show Meet the Press. Mitchell joined the panel of the 1988 presidential debates in which George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began reporting on in the White House in 1981-1988, and during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Mitchell has reported on a variety of notable news stories throughout the years, such as budget reform, tax reform and the Iran Contra saga. She travelled frequently with Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
